  This design, called "The Strawberry Thief," was created in 1883 by William Morris, a British thinker, poet, designer, writer, and painter who had a profound influence on the history of design. It was inspired by Morris's own experience of having his strawberries eaten by birds while he was trying to grow them. In 1979, Liberty printed it as a furnishing fabric, and later scaled down the pattern and adjusted the design for Tana Lawn. It joined the Classic Collection in 1995 and remains a firm favorite to this day.
